Proper Installation Positions

Proper Installation Positions

Installing a toilet requires careful planning to ensure functionality, accessibility, and ease of maintenance. Here’s a comprehensive guide to the recommended installation positions for a toilet, angle valve, and electrical outlet.

Toilet Installation Position

When installing a toilet, consider the following points for optimal placement:

Distance from Wall: The standard distance from the back wall to the center of the toilet flange (the pipe fitting that connects the toilet to the drain pipe) is typically 12 inches (30 cm). However, this can vary depending on the model.

Side Clearance: There should be at least 15 inches (38 cm) of clearance from the center of the toilet to any sidewall or obstacle. This ensures comfortable use and accessibility.

Front Clearance: Ensure there is at least 24 inches (61 cm) of clear space in front of the toilet for ease of use.

Angle Valve Installation Position

The angle valve controls the water supply to the toilet. Proper placement is crucial for easy access and maintenance.
(Need to use the angle valve or T-valve that we have equipped, do not use other valves [except adapters].)

Position: The angle valve should be installed on the side of the toilet, not at the back. This placement allows for easy access in case of repairs or adjustments and avoids interference with the toilet’s installation and removal.

Height: The angle valve should be installed approximately 6 inches (15 cm) above the floor. This height is convenient for access while remaining discreet.

Distance from Centerline: Ideally, the angle valve should be placed about 9.81-15.74 inches (25-40 cm) from the centerline of the toilet. This position provides sufficient space for connection to the toilet’s water inlet.

It is not recommended to install the angle valve on the back of the toilet, which is not conducive to the installation and maintenance of the toilet.

Electrical Outlet Installation Position

If the toilet installation requires an electrical outlet, for example, for a bidet or a washlet, the position of the outlet is also important.

Height: Install the outlet around 12 inches (30 cm) above the floor. This height keeps the outlet accessible but not in the way.

Location: The outlet should be placed on the side of the toilet, preferably on the same side as the angle valve. This prevents cords from crossing over the toilet and keeps the area tidy.

Distance from Centerline: Position the outlet about 9.84-59.05 inches (25-149 cm) from the centerline of the toilet. This placement ensures the cord can reach the outlet without excessive slack.

Drainage Pipe Height

The sewage pipe needs to be 0.5cm above the ground, or flush with the ground, not below the ground. If it is too high or below the ground, it may cause leakage or odor after installation.

Height: The sewage pipe is 0.5CM above the ground and must not be lower than the ground

About Shift and Traps

If the toilet sewage pipe is installed with a shifter or a trap, buying a siphon toilet may cause the toilet to fail to siphon. Please make sure to check the sewage pipe condition before purchasing.

Regarding the displacement:Displacement of flat pipes
If the toilet installation location is moved, and the distance of the flat pipe is more than one meter, no toilet can be used. Because the displacement situation is more complicated.

Trap:Regarding the situation of the trap, it is not possible to install a smart toilet with this type of trap!
If you need to buy a toilet with a trap on a different floor, it is recommended that you contact a plumber to remove the trap and replace it with a 90-degree elbow.

Additional Considerations

Accessibility: Ensure all components are easily accessible for maintenance. Avoid placing any fixtures or accessories in positions that would require dismantling other parts of the bathroom for access.

Safety: When installing electrical outlets near water sources, ensure they are GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlets to prevent electrical shocks.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure a clean, efficient, and easily maintainable installation for your toilet and its associated fixtures. Proper positioning not only enhances functionality but also ensures long-term convenience and safety.
